We fell in love with Angora goats the first time we saw them, the soft, beautiful luster of their mohair and their docile personalities. This breed was first introduced to the United States in 1849 from Turkey, the U.S. has since that time become one of the two largest producers of mohair. Angora goats are some of the most efficient fiber producers, producing a fiber called mohair (Angora is produced by rabbits). Angora goats are sheared twice a year, in the spring and fall, with adults producing anywhere from 4-6″ staple lengths and each shearing producing a beautiful fiber known for it’s luster, smoothness and durability. As warm as wool but lighter, resistant to color fading and durable; mohair dyes easily and can be twisted or bent without damaging the fiber.
We have sold our herd and no longer have stock for sale, we do still have mohair available. If you are interested in purchasing mohair please visit our Goat Products page.
